The Freedom Yachts 40/40 is a David Pedrick-designed fractional sloop built by Tillotson Pearson Inc and Freedom Yachts from 1993 to the present. It features a free-standing rig and a self-tending 'Beirig' jib, with a fin keel and spade rudder, and a wing keel option. The boat measures 12.3 meters LOA, with a 4.1-meter beam, 2.1-meter draft, and displaces 10,756 kg. Aboard *Piratas Aderiva*, a Freedom 40 serves as a mobile concert stage for the Piano Ocean project, carrying a custom-engineered lifting platform for a piano.0:06 This vessel, purchased in Lorient, France, underwent a two-year shipyard modification for the piano system.6:39 The crew has sailed it for a decade through the Mediterranean, Brittany, Ireland, Scotland, Norway, and the Arctic Circle, using its mahogany and oak interior as a home for a couple and child.9:32
