The Lagoon 470 is a 14.5-meter fractional sloop catamaran, designed by Van Peteghem, Lauriot Prevost, and Lauriot-Prevost, and built by Lagoon and CNB from 1998 to 2005. It has a twin keel hull, a 7.9-meter beam, a 1.4-meter draft, and displaces 9329 kg. Aboard The On Deck Channel, a 1998 Lagoon 470 underwent a complete mast removal for a rigging overhaul, including replacement of standing and running rigging.1:22 The owner, a liveaboard for four years, planned to install new LED lighting, a wind instrument, a VHF antenna, and radar.2:19 Riggers emphasized labeling standing rigging wires, inspecting sheaves, cleaning ball-bearing mainsail cars, and applying Tef-Gel to fasteners.8:19 They also recommended replacing internal wiring with tinned marine-grade cable and keeping it within the mast conduit.14:31
