What the fleet has seen

The Lagoon 47 is a 14.1-meter fractional sloop catamaran with a rotating spar, designed by Van Peteghem, Lauriot Prevost, and Lauriot-Prevost, and built by Lagoon, Jeanneau, and Lagoon Catamaran since 1992. It features a twin keel hull, a 7.6-meter beam, a 1.1-meter draft, and displaces 9000 kg. Lagoon, a division of the Beneteau Group, has produced over 7,000 catamarans since 1984, establishing an 18% global market share. The brand shifted to luxury cruising with its first 55-foot model in 1987.1:22 The 1999 introduction of the Lagoon 380 transitioned the company into a mainstream manufacturer.3:07 While models like the 420 Hybrid and 450 achieved high sales, they also faced scrutiny; the 420 Hybrid struggled with reliability, and the 450 had structural issues with cracked bulkheads.7:55
