The Newport 30-1 is a 9.1-meter masthead sloop designed by Gary Mull and built by Lindsay Plastics Capital Yachts Inc. and Capital Yachts Corp. between 1968 and 1973. It features a fin keel with a spade rudder, a 3.2-meter beam, a 1.4-meter draft, and displaces 3401 kg. Aboard *Living For Sail*, a 30-foot Newport in Bellingham undergoes bottom scuff-sanding with a Mirka dustless sander and has a through-hull transducer resealed with TotalBoat sealant.14:46 The Newport 30-1 was built during a period of high Midget Ocean Racing Class (MORC) popularity.2:33
