The Westerly Yachts Ltd. Oceanquest 35 is a 10.8-meter masthead sloop designed by Ed Dubois and built by Westerly Yachts Ltd. from 1993 to 2001, sharing its hull with the earlier Seahawk 34/35 and Falcon 34/35. It was available in both center cockpit and aft cockpit versions, with only five of the aft cockpit variant produced. A twin keel version with a 3.92-foot draft was also available. Aboard *Sailing Zephyr IV*, the 81-year-old owner, Dave, sails his Oceanquest 35, *Zephyr IV*, extensively along the south coast of the UK, including passages from Plymouth to Falmouth and from the Solent to Studland Bay.1:41 The vessel has encountered challenging conditions, including 30-knot winds gusting to 40 in Portsmouth Harbour, and 30-knot headwinds at the entrance to Fowey. *Zephyr IV* has achieved speeds of 7.5 knots on a beam reach in 23-knot winds.2:25 The crew has experienced the autopilot struggling in 22-knot winds, necessitating manual steering.5:53 Dave has performed maintenance such as replacing a Plastimo Olympic 135 compass light and clearing a blocked thermostat bypass nozzle on the Volvo Penta 2003 engine.watch The vessel has run aground in shallow river channels, highlighting the importance of local knowledge over outdated charts.10:09
