The Westerly Yachts Ltd. Oceanquest 35 is a masthead sloop designed by Ed Dubois, built by Westerly Yachts Ltd. from 1993 to 2001. It shares its hull with the earlier Seahawk 34/35 and Falcon 34/35, and was available in both center cockpit (the more popular version) and aft cockpit configurations, with only five aft cockpit versions built. A twin keel version was also available. Aboard *Sailing Zephyr IV*, a Westerly Yachts Ltd. Oceanquest 35, the owner, Dave, has sailed the south coast of the UK, including passages from Plymouth to Falmouth and from the Solent to Studland Bay and the Nab Tower.10:22 The boat has encountered varied conditions, from light 9-knot winds to 30-knot headwinds and rough seas, reaching speeds of 7.5 knots on a beam reach in 23-knot winds.4:12 The autopilot has struggled to maintain course in 22-knot winds, requiring manual steering.5:53 Dave has performed maintenance on the boat, including servicing a Lewmar 40 self-tailing winch and applying antifouling to the propeller.9:33 He also diagnosed and repaired an overflowing Volvo Penta 2003 engine header tank by clearing a blocked thermostat bypass nozzle.4:46 The crew has experienced grounding in shallow river channels, emphasizing the need for current local knowledge over outdated charts.10:09
