Design & history

The Seawind Mk II (Allied), also called Seawind 32, was an updated version of the Seawind 30 introduced in 1975; despite halting other models to fill orders, its higher price and a slowing economy led to weak sales and company troubles.

Design

Updated version of the Seawind 30; successor to the original Seawind. See Seawind MkII Ketch (Allied) for more details.

Production

Came to market in 1975 as successor to the original Seawind. Production of the Seabreeze, Luders 33, and Chance 30-30 was stopped to fill orders for the new model. Both old and new versions were built simultaneously while sales of the new version remained weak; the economy slowed and the company approached meltdown.
