Design & history

Originally designed for Kaiser Gale Force Yachts, the molds were sold to Allied Boat Co., which launched the SEAWIND in 1962 after modifying the cabin top and port arrangement. It was the first and one of the last boats built by Allied, and was brought back into production in 1978 alongside the newer SEAWIND II.

Design

Originally designed for Kaiser Gale Force Yachts; molds subsequently sold to Allied Boat Co., which altered the cabin top and port arrangement before the first boat appeared in 1962.

Production

Early builders under contract were Lunn Laminates of Port Washington, NY and F.L. Tripp & Sons, Westport, MA. Allied eventually built the boat at its own large plant in the Catskills, NY. The SEAWIND was the first and one of the last boats built by Allied Boat Company. In 1978 it was brought back into production and built simultaneously with the newer SEAWIND II.
