Bris 12.5 ft PVC Dinghy patching air leak at the waterline while cruising on a sailboat

Qué cubre este vídeo

A Bris 12.5-ft PVC inflatable dinghy develops an air leak at the waterline after chafing against dinghy davits during outboard work.0:07 Gordon locates the leak by spraying soapy water on the hull at the beach, then lifts the dinghy with the davits to keep the repair area dry and at a workable height.0:11 He trims the white patches from the dinghy's included repair kit with scissors, rounding the edges, and cleans the chafed area with brake cleaner on a rag to remove salt and residue.0:28 He applies the kit's PVC chemical glue to both the hull and the patch, rubs it in, lets it dry, then applies a second coat before pressing the patch in place. A second patch goes on the opposite side of the same chafed zone — that spot showed no leak but had worn thin. Both patches cure for a couple of hours. The dinghy goes back in the water fully inflated with the leak fixed. Using the davits to lift the dinghy clear of the water is the key step that makes a waterline patch practical without hauling the boat.
