The C&C Yachts 37/40 R is a 12.0-meter masthead sloop designed by Robert Ball and C&C Design, built by C&C Yachts between 1988 and 1990. This model is a racing-oriented variant of the post-1988 C&C 37/40+, featuring a lighter displacement of 6758 kg, a spartan interior, and a taller three-spreader tapered mast equipped with running back and check stays. Its fin keel with a spade rudder draws 2.5 meters. C&C Yachts, founded in Ontario, established a reputation for performance-oriented production sailboats by integrating lightweight fiberglass construction with competitive racing designs, utilizing balsa-cored hulls to increase stiffness and reduce weight. The company gained prominence after its 1966 design, Red Jacket, won the Southern Ocean Racing Conference.2:59
