The Lagoon 440 is a 13.6-meter fractional sloop catamaran, built by Lagoon Catamaran from 2004 to 2010, with a 7.7-meter beam and 1.3-meter draft. Designed by Van Peteghem, Lauriot Prevost, and Lauriot-Prevost, it displaces 12,149 kg. Aboard *Vagabond Voyages*, owners prepared their Lagoon 440 for cyclone season in Fiji by doubling mooring lines, securing it to a permanent buoy, and installing a cockpit cover.13:19 They removed the bimini, stored electronics with silica gel, and treated surfaces with a vinegar, niaouli, and clove oil mixture to prevent mold.15:00 The crew also sealed deck fittings with silicone and used chemical dehumidifiers. *Sam Holmes Sailing* toured a Lagoon 440 and noted maintenance issues including broken hatches and difficult engine access.16:36 Lagoon replaced the 440 with the Lagoon 450 around 2010.8:46
