Cosa tratta questo video
The Viking 7 anchor demonstrates superior holding power and resistance to mud-fouling compared to a similarly sized Mantis anchor in sandy mud substrates. During testing in 26 feet of water, the 12-pound Viking anchor consistently outperformed the 13-pound Mantis at both 3.5:1 and 5:1 scope ratios.8:29 While the Mantis anchor features a heavier tip weight that may facilitate faster initial setting, the Viking design—characterized by a larger roll bar, thinner fluke material, and a recessed shank-to-fluke interface—digs deeper and maintains stability under steady loads up to 560 pounds.0:20 In sand and gravel substrates, however, the Viking anchor struggled with weed-fouling, repeatedly collecting debris during reset attempts.14:21 The Viking’s geometry, including holes in the fluke and a rearward shank attachment point, appears to mitigate the mud-fouling issues that caused the Mantis to release during deep-set testing.12:47 The Viking anchor provides higher holding power and reduced mud-fouling in soft substrates compared to the Mantis anchor.
