Cosa tratta questo video

Janae and Jason's boat Escapade, a 23-year-old vessel, had original teak decks worn so thin that screws were surfacing through the planks and recaulking was no longer viable.2:27 The couple had deferred the job for four to five years after purchase because replacement cost ran $20,000–$30,000; the solution was synthetic teak from Permateek, installed by the World Panel Products team.0:20 Removal took two days using a combination of multi-tools, hand tools, and larger power tools across the cockpit, side decks, and bow.4:46 A key finding: the underlying deck was dry throughout, with no soft or waterlogged sections — a significant relief that kept the project on schedule.7:25 Prep work included pulling remaining screws, sanding off old adhesive and caulking, and filling voids with fiberglass filler to create a flat, solid substrate.8:50 The World Panel Products crew — Leo and Christian — templated each section on site, cut pieces around existing fittings, bonded them with a plastic-scraped adhesive, then fused rubber caulking seams using a welding machine before a final light sand.15:34 Deck fittings removed before installation included cleats, a bowsprit, D-rings, and a headsail track; items that couldn't be removed were worked around.3:37 Synthetic teak requires no oiling or sanding back and can be spot-sanded if stained.1:16
