Cosa tratta questo video
The 60-foot trawler Brupeg transits the Queensland coast from Airlie Beach toward Townsville to conduct a week-long training program for 60 Australian Navy Cadets. The crew, including new member Alena, manages a 10-hour steam to Upstart Bay, maintaining a speed of seven knots to optimize fuel consumption. To correct a 4-to-5-degree starboard list caused by wind and swell, the crew uses a deck wash pump and a food-grade hose to transfer ballast water from the starboard tank to the port tank. The vessel navigates around Cape Upstart and the island known as The Bun to avoid shallow water charted near the mainland. During the passage, the crew identifies a mechanical issue with the anchor swivel, which fails to seat correctly on the shackles. They plan to mark the anchor chain at five-meter intervals to improve depth accuracy during future deployments. The vessel utilizes Chute Harbour for refueling and water, noting the site’s suitability for larger vessels and significant cost savings compared to other marinas.
