Javi completes a multi-month deck restoration on the boat Regina at Marina Lanzarote.Watch The project involved removing the original aluminum toe rail and various deck-mounted hardware before repainting the entire surface.0:54 The crew applied a non-skid finish using silica sand, utilizing a coarser 0.5–1.0 mm grade for the main deck and a finer 0–0.5 mm grade for the cockpit coamings.4:39 Additional upgrades include restored dorade vents and new deck fills for water and diesel.2:14 Javi also installed a new mast structure to facilitate reefing operations.1:15 During the three-month refit, the dinghy remained in the water, resulting in significant marine growth and barnacle accumulation on the hull.5:31 Javi cleaned the dinghy using a scraper and scouring pads, noting that long-term immersion without maintenance severely fouls the hull.9:41
