Cosa tratta questo video

Kat tours the Lynden Boat Recycling Yard in Lynden, Washington — a parts operation that takes in derelict boats, strips them, and sells components to fund the program.0:22 The yard holds roughly 400 sails organized by type (spinnakers, genoas, mains) and sorted by size, with a written inventory list.1:59 Other inventory includes winches (mostly non-self-tailing), cleats, blocks, hardware, old electronics including radar, tillers, steering wheels, compasses, fans, sinks, outboard engines, water tanks, fenders, dodger frames, pulpits, rub rails, teak cabinetry, boom and spinnaker poles, cushions, and complete boats available for stripping.4:15 Most donor vessels run 25 to 35 feet.6:46 Kat notes a specific need for a replacement spinnaker pole for Sea Dream of Clyde, as the jaws on the existing pole are failing, and plans to return with measurements.3:39 Pricing is informal — owner Jeff names a price on the spot and buyers take it or leave it.1:21 Jeff will ship parts.7:00 The yard's website carries little detail, but a phone call to Jeff is the recommended first step for anyone searching for a specific part, particularly sailors with older boats or those based in the Pacific Northwest.6:37
