The Hallberg-Rassy P-28 is a 8.6-meter masthead sloop with a fin keel, designed by Harry Hallberg and built by Hallberg-Rassy from 1955 to 1973. Early versions featured mahogany hulls and a fractional rig, evolving to GRP hulls in 1963 and a masthead rig by the late 1950s. The P-28 underwent several design changes, including a transom extension in 1972 that increased its length to 9.04 meters, and the introduction of a Volvo Penta diesel engine after hull #500.2:17 Post-1972 models also included a teak deck and teak toerail as standard. The P-28 was primarily marketed in the USA and Sweden.
