The Hurley 22 is a 6.7-meter masthead sloop designed by Ian L. Anderson and built from 1966 to 1990, becoming Hurley Marine's most popular model. It features a fin keel with a spade rudder, though bilge keel versions were also available, and has a displacement of 1814 kg. After Hurley Marine ceased operations, production continued under various builders, including South Coast Marine and Ravensail, who marketed their version as the HURLEY 22R. The design was also licensed for production in Holland as the HURLEY 700. The Sailing Brothers learned to sail on a Hurley 22 before upgrading to a Rival 34 for extensive offshore cruising, including two circumnavigations of the UK and an Atlantic crossing.15:32 A Hurley 22 named *Breezy*, recovered after sinking on its mooring, weighed two tonnes when hauled for disposal, double its estimated weight, and was taken to Truro Recycling, where its fiberglass hull was sent to landfill due to a lack of sustainable recycling options in the UK.7:19
