Djé and Nad, owners of an Outremer catamaran, perform structural repairs on their vessel while anchored in the Caribbean. Djé prepares a scarf joint on a damaged section of the boat, using a corded angle grinder equipped with 80-grit flap discs to shape the plywood.1:25 He notes that the 80-grit discs provide efficient material removal without overheating the tool.6:35 After shaping the replacement plywood piece to match the existing scarf, he plans to bond the wood with adhesive before applying fiberglass reinforcement the following day.15:34
