To install a new cabin sole in a 1970 Paceship 24, the project requires creating precise templates and performing a dry fit using OSB before cutting the final Coosa panels. Because the hull tapers inward, the OSB templates are oversized by approximately half an inch to allow for later undercutting and a tight final fit.1:40 The panels are beveled at 45 degrees to sit flush against the hull and make full contact with the top of the keel.6:34 The installation uses Coosa Blue Water 20 panels for structural flooring and bulkheads, while the lighter Nautical series is reserved for non-structural components like bunks and cabinetry.8:44 When cutting Coosa, carbide-tipped blades are essential, as the fiberglass reinforcement within the panels dulls standard high-speed steel blades within minutes.10:25 Once the panels are cut and fitted, they are glassed on both sides to create a unified, stiff floor structure.
