O que este vídeo aborda
The crew of the Lagoon 410 S2 catamaran *Suria* departs Brest, France, for a passage across the Bay of Biscay.0:49 After waiting two weeks for a weather window, they navigate out of the bay using engines before finding light winds.2:51 To mitigate the risk of orca interactions, the crew plots a course significantly further west into deeper water, aiming to catch favorable northerly winds on the backside of a passing low-pressure system.11:16 During the transit, they encounter a 32-meter racing trimaran and observe local wildlife, including dolphins and a whale.12:01 Technical issues persist, as the owner identifies a leaking through-hull fitting near the bow that only admits water under wave impact, requiring a future haul-out for proper resealing.17:16 The crew maintains a three-hour watch schedule and utilizes a radar system to monitor tanker traffic.10:21 Despite light winds, they successfully deploy a wing-on-wing sail configuration to maintain speed.20:48 The passage confirms that routing far offshore remains a viable strategy to avoid known orca-prone areas while seeking consistent wind patterns.
