The couple decides to abandon the trek after several hours of hiking, citing the lack of intermediate camping options and the poor state of the trail. Earlier in the trip, the pair also attempted rock climbing at the Acantilado de San Juan, but failed to locate accessible routes due to a lack of detailed guidebooks and difficult terrain. The excursion concludes with a birthday celebration inside their motorhome. Poor trail maintenance by private horse-tour operators can render remote mountain paths impassable for hikers.
