Design & history
The authentic Beetle Cat is a wooden strict one-design class boat. After World War II construction rights passed to the Concordia Company, and as of 2014 it was built solely by the Beetle Boat Shop (Beetle Cat Inc.).
Designed by the father of Carl Beetle, who later passed construction rights to the Concordia Company after World War II.
After World War II, Carl Beetle passed the rights for construction of the original Beetle Cat Boats to the Concordia Company. As of 2014 it was being built solely by the Beetle Boat Shop (Beetle Cat Inc.). Numerous boats modeled after the original Beetle Cat have been built of fiberglass and other methods in the US and elsewhere.
