The Frisco FLYER is a 7.6-meter masthead sloop, a modified Folkboat design by Tord Sunden, built by Cheoy Lee Shipyard since 1957.10:41 Originally produced as the PACIFIC CLIPPER and later as the OFFSHORE 26, the Frisco FLYER name originated from Richard Reed's San Francisco yacht brokerage. The first Frisco FLYER completed two single-handed Atlantic crossings in its inaugural year. The design features a long keel with a transom-hung rudder, a 2.2-meter beam, 1.2-meter draft, and 2494 kg displacement. Early variants, like the PACIFIC CLIPPER (Mark I), were all-teak with a small trunk cabin and a fractional rig.10:41 Later versions, the Mark II and Mark III, adopted a masthead rig, with the Mark III featuring a larger teak doghouse cabin providing some standing headroom. Owners could choose between diesel or gas engines, stainless or plow steel rigging, and canvas or teak decks.
