The Outremer 45 is a 13.7-meter fractional sloop catamaran designed by Gerard Danson and built by Atelier Outremer between 2000 and 2014. It has a 7.2-meter beam, a 2.2-meter draft, and displaces 7250 kg. The model is known for its performance, with a mainsail area of 73 m², a genoa area of 33 m², a gennaker area of 110 m², and an asymmetric spinnaker area of 140 m². Aboard Garrett’s Adventure, a crew sailing an Outremer 45 from Fiji to New Zealand covered approximately 570 miles in six days, maintaining high speeds and stable conditions.1:52 The Outremer 45 *Luna Bay 2* sank in French Polynesia after striking an unidentified floating object, with investigations revealing significant water ingress at the sail drive.2:27 Outremer is owned by Grand Large Yachting, which also owns Gunboat.1:46
