The Privilege 39 is a 11.8-meter cutter-rigged catamaran designed by Eric LeFevre and built by Jeantot Marine and Privilege Catamarans between 1988 and 1994. Also known as the Privilege 12 and Alliaura 39, most of the 6350 kg displacement catamarans were initially sold into the charter trade. Aboard TheSailingChannel.TV, a family chartered a Privilege 39 in Antigua for a cruise through the Leeward Islands, including a 40-mile offshore passage to Guadeloupe.0:10 The catamaran maintained an average speed of 6 to 7 knots, navigating coastal hops and mangrove channels, including a 5:00 a.m. bridge opening to reach Pointe-à-Pitre.4:25 The crew utilized the autopilot for sheltered passages, praising the catamaran's stability and speed for family snorkeling and island hopping.9:14
