The Seafarer Yachts 34 is a masthead sloop designed by McCurdy, Rhodes and built by Seafarer Fiberglass Yachts from 1972 to the present. It measures 10.3 meters LOA, with a 3.0-meter beam, 1.6-meter draft, and displaces 5307 kg. The hull features a fin with a rudder on a skeg. The Seafarer 34 was offered with optional diesel power and a keel/centerboard version, and a yawl rig was also available. A later MKII variant featured a slightly larger rig. Aboard *Wanderling*, a Seaward Saddler 34, Matthias and Luisa sailed from Long Island to Conception Island in the Bahamas, maintaining an average speed of 6.5 knots over a 45-mile passage in consistent northeasterly winds.1:57 They later transited 40 miles to Georgetown, Great Exuma, in 18 to 20 knots of wind, achieving speeds between 5.5 and 7 knots.11:53
