Designated agent

Notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512) should be sent to our designated agent, Trevor Van Galder: hello@sailing.directory (subject line “DMCA notice”). The agent is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office’s DMCA Designated Agent Directory (service provider “sailing.directory”, registration DMCA‑1075047).

What a notice must include

• Identification of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed.
• The URL(s) on sailing.directory where the material appears.
• Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

We review every complete notice, remove or disable access to material we determine to be infringing, and notify the affected party, who may submit a counter-notice under §512(g). Repeat-infringement situations are handled by removing the listing entirely.

Channel owners who simply want their channel removed or limited don’t need a DMCA notice — the creators page describes a faster path.
