Ce que couvre cette vidéo

Washington State provides over 200 pump-out locations for recreational boaters to dispose of sewage, preventing the discharge of waste into sensitive shellfish growing areas.1:14 Human waste can harbor norovirus, which persists in saltwater for months and poses a specific threat to oysters and other shellfish.1:32 The Clean Vessel Act of 1992 funds these facilities, which typically utilize European peristaltic hose pumps to create a vacuum and extract effluent from holding tanks.1:53 Boaters can locate operational stations, including seasonal and mobile pump-out services, using the PumpOut Nav app.3:27 While most state-funded stations are free, some commercial mobile services charge between $20 and $30.4:17 For those using composting toilets, which qualify as Type 3 marine sanitation devices, solids must be disposed of in proper receptacles, and liquids require appropriate handling.6:18 Resources, including free deck fitting adapters and information on Y-valve management, are available at pumpoutwashington.org to assist boaters in complying with discharge regulations.7:01
