Mast climbing SRT replacing wind speed/direction indicator

Cosa tratta questo video
The crew replaces a faulty wind speed and direction indicator at the top of a 55-foot mast to resolve sporadic readings at the helm.0:06 To facilitate the ascent, the climber uses a single rope technique (SRT) known as frogging while scaling the spinnaker halyard. Once at the masthead, the climber installs a permanent 11mm PMI pit rope to serve as a dedicated, redundant climbing line for future maintenance, avoiding reliance on the halyard. The climber uses a Petzl Grigri for the descent, noting that the stiffness of new 11mm pit rope requires a break-in period for the device to function smoothly. After the replacement of the wind instrument, the helm displays consistent wind data. Using a dedicated, static 11mm line for mast climbing provides a safer, more reliable alternative to relying on running rigging.
