Sailing Zephyr IV · vídeo

O que este vídeo aborda

A comedic sailing song performed in a mock-nautical style, narrating a weekend sailor's misadventures on Southampton Water. The protagonist sails from inland to Cowes and Yarmouth, equipped with Wellington boots, a captain's hat, a VHF radio, a life raft, and an AA road map substituting for proper charts.1:17 He encounters a supertanker, insists his right of way under sail overrides all traffic, and considers calling a Mayday because his brass ship's clock needs winding.2:08 His wife objects to the boat's heel in a breeze; he pushes her overboard.2:22 The song ends with the supertanker aground, the wife swimming, and the sailor drinking to "gallant yachtsmen everywhere."3:06 No technical instruction, navigation guidance, or factual sailing content is present — the piece is entirely satirical verse.
