Repairing fiberglass hull damage from only one side requires a significantly wider taper than a standard two-sided repair to ensure structural integrity. When access to the interior is blocked by molded liners or foam, grind the damaged area back to a clean edge and create a taper ratio of 18:1 or 24:1, rather than the conventional 12:1.
