The Bavaria Yachts 37 is a masthead sloop designed by J&J Yacht Design and built by Bavaria Yachts from 2000 to 2001. This 11.6-meter sailboat, with a 3.7-meter beam and 1.9-meter draft, displaces 5360 kg and features a fin with bulb and spade rudder hull. It is part of Bavaria's Cruiser series, known for its solid construction and reliability, and was formerly marketed as the Bavaria 36 in 1998. Aboard The Paper Boat Project, Stefan Heiberg and Oliwia sailed a Bavaria 37 in Malta, encountering significant swell and 35-knot winds between Gozo and Comino, where they motored to maintain comfort and adjusted heading by 10 degrees to reduce slamming.11:54 They anchored in Santa Maria Bay, Comino, for protection and noted the boat felt compact but slightly narrow for their needs.10:44 The Bavaria 37 is distinct from the later Bavaria 37 Cruiser (2013).
