The Bavaria Yachts 37 is a Masthead Sloop designed by J&J Yacht Design and built by Bavaria Yachts from 2000 to 2001. This model, formerly known as the Bavaria 36, has an LOA of 11.6 m, a beam of 3.7 m, a draft of 1.9 m, and a displacement of 5360 kg. It features a fin keel with a bulb and a spade rudder. Aboard XTRIP SAILING, the crew repaired storm damage to a stanchion base and deck laminate in Isafjordur, Iceland, after a severe gale buckled the stanchion inward and tore the fiberglass.0:24 The repair involved grinding out damaged laminate, filling the void with epoxy-soaked fiberglass mats, and installing a 20x10 cm aluminum backing plate with M8 stainless steel bolts for reinforcement.3:39 The crew also replaced damaged lifelines and added protective rubber tubing to prevent chafe.7:40
