The C&C Yachts 27 MK I is a masthead sloop designed by Rob Ball and C&C Design, built by C&C Yachts from 1970 to 1972. This model, with an LOA of 8.3 meters, a beam of 2.8 meters, and a draft of 1.3 meters, was the first of nearly 1000 C&C 27s built across four marks until 1982. The C&C 27 MK I features a fin keel with a spade rudder and displaces 2349 kg. C&C Yachts built its reputation on performance-oriented production sailboats using balsa-cored hulls to achieve stiffness and reduce weight, a construction method seen in the C&C 27.8:05 The C&C 27 MK I was available with a taller rig option, measuring 35.00 feet for the 'I' dimension and 29.80 feet for 'P', resulting in a total sail area of 352.52 square feet. The C&C 27 series spawned derivative designs, including the Trapper 500 in the UK and the unauthorized Korneuburg 27 in Germany.
