The Catalina Yachts MORGAN 440 is a 14.0-meter masthead sloop with a wing keel, designed by Gerry Douglas and built by Catalina Yachts from 2004 to 2012. It displaces 11,579 kg and has a 1.5-meter draft. In 2010, the model was renamed the Catalina 440. Aboard *Practical Sailor*, a Catalina Morgan 440 configured for liveaboard cruising features a 1,200-amp-hour lithium house bank, a 75-horsepower Yanmar engine, and an 85-pound Mantus anchor.16:49 The boat is equipped with a Cruzaro water maker, a Victron 3000-watt MultiPlus inverter, and a Force 10 stove.16:02 The cockpit includes a D400 wind generator and davits for a dinghy.6:27 The owner uses Starlink for connectivity and an Acuba water filtration system.17:19 The interior offers a convertible salon table and an aft lazarette with a washing machine.11:09 Aboard *keeldragger*, a solo sailor on a 40-foot sailboat experienced repeated engine stalls due to a suspected fuel line obstruction, highlighting the importance of maintaining sail power as a backup during engine failures.32:11
