The Morgan Yachts 382 is a 38-foot masthead sloop cruising sailboat designed by Ted Brewer, Jack Corey, and Edward S. Brewer, built by Morgan Yachts between 1977 and 1982.3:03 It features a fin keel and skeg-hung rudder, with an LOA of 11.7 m, a beam of 3.7 m, a draft of 1.5 m, and a displacement of 7711 kg.3:32 Approximately 500 boats were built across its iterations, including the original MORGAN 38 and the later MORGAN 384, which featured a taller rig, modified rudder, larger water tank, and interior changes. Practical Sailor notes the 382's solid fiberglass hull below the waterline, foam-cored topsides, and deck, and its original Perkins 4108 diesel engine.5:24 Common issues include fuel tank corrosion, undersized early-model rudders, water tank leaks, bulkhead problems near the head, and hull blistering.8:19
