What the fleet has seen

The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40 DS, as the fleet has seen it

Derived from the videos the fleet has analysed of this model. ▶ marks open the moment aboard.

The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40 Ds is a 12.2-meter masthead sloop designed by Daniel Andrieu and built by Jeanneau between 2000 and 2004. It features a fin keel with a spade rudder, a 4.0-meter beam, a 2.0-meter draft, and displaces 7200 kg. The model was popular in the charter trade, partly due to its shallow draft option of 4.25 feet.20:54 While suitable for downwind trade-wind routes, its underwater profile, specifically lacking a significant forefoot and rudder protection, makes it less ideal for demanding offshore passages compared to boats like the Corbin 39 or Shannon Yachts 38.15:29
