The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 490 is a fractional sloop designed by Philippe Briand and built by Jeanneau since 2018. It measures 14.8 meters LOA with a 4.5-meter beam, a 2.2-meter draft, and displaces 11,289 kg. The hull features a fin with a bulb and dual rudders. An ICW-compatible mast option is available, reducing air draft to 19.2 meters. In March 2020, Howard Clayman delivered a new Jeanneau 490 from the south of France to Cyprus, encountering 35- to 45-knot winds and 8- to 10-foot following seas while transiting the channel between Corsica and Sardinia at night.9:41
