What the fleet has seen

The Paceship Yachts Westwind 24, as the fleet has seen it

Derived from the videos the fleet has analysed of this model. ▶ marks open the moment aboard.

The Paceship Yachts Westwind 24 is a 7.3-meter masthead sloop designed by Ted Hood, built by Paceship Yachts since 1966, and also known as the PACESHIP P 24. It features a keel/centerboard hull and displaces 2100 kg.9:27 Aboard BoatworksToday, Andy acquired a 1970 Westwind Paceship for restoration, noting its solid, hand-laid fiberglass hull and deck construction, which showed no evidence of coring or stress cracks despite 20 years in storage.9:27 The interior, however, suffered significant rot in the sole, bulkheads, and cabinetry due to leaking port lights.10:08 The project aims to transform the boat into a trailerable, four-berth cruiser for weekend sailing.12:06 Andy installed a full Victron electrical suite in the V-berth, including two 300-amp-hour Epic batteries and a Victron inverter-charger, which required horizontal mounting due to cooling clearance requirements.10:45 He also performed structural fiberglass repairs to permanently close redundant through-hulls, using a 12-to-1 taper ratio with 1708 biaxial fiberglass cloth and 5-to-1 epoxy resin to restore the 1/4-inch hull thickness.7:29
