Per Christian Bordal raced an F-16 catamaran in Færderseilasen, finishing well ahead of the boat Vågals but rounding the Tristein mark only three seconds apart from a rival.1:56 Wind conditions proved decisive: the southerly wind dropped sharply further north, leaving the F-16 stranded 50 metres from the Tristein mark with no wind for nearly an hour before completing the rounding. Slower boats positioned further inshore held better breeze and gained ground. On the outbound leg the crew tracked east along the Østfold coast and lost visual contact with competitors, relying on apps and onboard tracking systems to monitor the fleet. Bordal names Karma Police as a likely strong performer in the class, both outbound and on the return. The finish is in Moss, where Bordal notes a redeveloped waterfront district that replaced a paper factory 10–12 years ago. The race illustrates how the fastest boat in a class can lose significant time to a wind hole that slower, more inshore competitors avoid entirely.
