What this video covers
The crew of the sailing vessel *reality* completes a five-and-a-half-month season by transiting from Turkey to Rhodes, Greece. After departing a bay near Marmaris, the crew navigates the 26-mile passage to Rhodes Marina, where they clear customs directly at their berth with the assistance of an agent. The vessel maintains a speed of six knots under jib and one engine in light winds and half-meter swells. During the transit, the crew replaces their Turkish courtesy flag with a Greek courtesy flag and a yellow quarantine flag upon entering Greek territorial waters. The vessel’s season concludes with approximately 2,000 miles sailed, including visits to 29 Greek islands. Technical issues throughout the season included three windlass replacements and a dragging anchor in Syros, which the crew managed using the Anchor Pro app and a remote telegram alert system. The vessel will remain in Rhodes Marina until the following May.
