What this video covers
The crew of Plan C completes the purchase of a 1979 Bristol 45.5 in Florida’s Treasure Coast. The acquisition process involves a domestic wire transfer, notarized bills of sale, and Coast Guard documentation. Upon taking possession, the owners identify several immediate maintenance requirements, including a non-functional air conditioning system and a windlass that requires a full rebuild due to water intrusion. The boat also features a Garmin GPS unit and a watermaker system with a high-pressure pump located in the lower compartment. During an initial inspection, the crew locates the engine model 4-J-H-A-E and its serial number. High interior temperatures necessitate the use of fans and shade cloth to make the vessel workable for upcoming repairs. The crew secures the anchor with a lock to prevent theft while the boat remains at the dock. Future projects include removing and replacing the damaged windlass.
