What this video covers

The Isle of Dogs Sea Cadet Unit visits Cory's Recycling Centre on the Isle of Dogs, London, for the 2025 IOD Sea Cadet Unit Cory Art Competition awards.Watch Students from George Green School, Canal Wharf College, and the Sea Cadet Unit submitted artwork judged in a competition sponsored by Cory over three years.0:09 The visit includes a tour of the facility, where bin lorries from the Isle of Dogs back into yard hoppers, a hydraulic ram compresses the waste into containers, and a riverside crane lifts those containers onto barges.0:17 The barges are towed to Belvedere for Cory's energy-from-waste incinerator, which powers a population equivalent to Croydon — roughly 140,000 people. A classroom ceremony follows, with winners receiving awards. Speakers thank Cory for three years of support that funds the unit's sailing activities and keeps young people on the water. No navigation, seamanship, or technical sailing content appears; the focus is the competition ceremony and recycling facility tour.
