What this video covers
The owners of a catamaran, Mistertong, perform maintenance and relocate anchorages in Martinique to test systems and enjoy a weekend break. After removing external rub rails—referred to as martyrs—that were screwed into the plywood hull, the crew fills the remaining screw holes with epoxy resin and a filler charge to prevent moisture ingress and potential rot. The owner notes that the previous installation, while free of rot, created unnecessary humidity traps. The crew also calibrates the depth sounder by measuring water depth relative to the keels in a sandy anchorage at Les Salines and troubleshoots a non-functional speed log. During their stay at Les Salines, they observe sea turtles and attempt to film a resident barracuda, nicknamed Baba, using frozen sardines as bait. The vessel relocates between Les Salines and Caritan, noting that the water clarity has improved following recent storm activity. The crew plans a future sailing excursion to mark their first year of boat ownership.
