What this video covers

The crew of the catamaran Mistertong completes structural repairs on the boat’s beam while troubleshooting a failing generator and electrical system. After struggling with a non-functional generator, the crew successfully repairs the unit, restoring 220V power to the vessel. This allows them to recharge batteries, run a portable fan, and operate power tools, including an oscillating saw, to continue fiberglass and resin work on the beam. The structural reinforcement involves bonding new wooden stringers to the existing beam using 600-gram fiberglass cloth and resin, followed by the installation of backing plates secured with Sika. The crew notes that the beam’s core is repurposed mast material, which they believe provides superior strength compared to the original construction. While the generator is operational, the crew reports ongoing issues with its control monitor, which remains blank despite the engine running. The team plans to visit Le Marin to source parts and further address the generator's electronic faults.
