What this video covers

Barry Perrins, currently refitting his boat in Whangarei, New Zealand, endures a record-breaking storm that dumped nine inches of rain in a single night.6:14 The deluge, described as a one-in-500-year event, caused significant local flooding and washed large amounts of debris, including entire trees, into the marina.11:48 While the boat remained secure, the storm forced a halt to all deck work and necessitated extra precautions for the dinghy, which faced high winds.8:45 To improve life aboard during the extended stay, Perrins installed a new toilet and added a microwave and toaster to his galley for home comforts.7:01 He also acquired surplus gear, including cordage and scuba tanks, from friends who recently sold their vessel.3:05 Despite the weather, he continues preparing the boat for a planned tour of New Zealand, while participating in local social activities and music rehearsals with the RDM band.9:36
