The Moody 44-1 is a masthead sloop designed by Laurent Giles and built by A. H. Moody, Son Ltd. and Halmatic from 1973 to 1975. It measures 13.4 meters LOA, with a 3.8-meter beam, 2.0-meter draft, and 11,177 kg displacement. A shoal draft version with a 5.75-foot draft was available, and the model could be rigged as a sloop or a ketch. The Moody 44-1 has a comfort ratio of 35.3 and a sail area to displacement ratio of 14.8.
