The project includes stripping old anti-fouling paint, sanding the fiberglass hulls to the gel coat, and applying two coats of new anti-fouling paint.1:59 To address previous issues with rope cutters, the crew replaces the starboard prop shaft with a new unit fabricated by ProMarineWA, allowing for the installation of a rope cutter to protect against lobster traps.7:08 They also replace the brass cutlass bearings with fiber versions and install new zincs on the props, shafts, and keel coolers to mitigate electrolysis.10:08 Additional maintenance includes applying PropSpeed to the propellers and LightSpeed to underwater lights and transducers.15:15 The crew completes minor gel coat repairs and applies new navy blue pinstripes to the hulls before preparing to relaunch.15:44
