What the fleet has seen

The Caliber Yachts 40, as the fleet has seen it

Derived from the videos the fleet has analysed of this model. ▶ marks open the moment aboard.

The Caliber Yachts 40 is a cutter-rigged cruising sailboat designed by Michael McCreary and built by Caliber Yachts since 1992. It has a fin keel with a rudder on a skeg, measures 12.5 m LOA, 3.9 m beam, 1.5 m draft, and displaces 9797 kg. Aboard a Caliber 40 in Saint Petersburg, United States, technicians installed a mast-mounted whisker pole system, including a T-track, adjustable pole, and a car-and-traveler, designed for single-handed downwind deployment.5:29 They applied Tef-Gel to fasteners to prevent galvanic corrosion between stainless steel and the aluminum mast.8:00 The crew also demonstrated removing a forestay on the cutter, noting the inner forestay provided primary support while a temporary Dyneema halyard added stability.14:30
